What's new and what we're improving. We're in beta and shipping often.

  • Website

Homepage hero, Scripture ticker, and Sabbath Blessings

The public marketing homepage now opens with a stronger first impression: tuned stone-tablets hero art, a scrolling KJV verse ribbon at the fold, and a refined Sabbath Blessings carousel. Together these make the front door of Sabbath Together feel more intentional, readable, and alive without slowing the rest of the page.

    • Hero illustration and layout

      New

Headline copy pairs with a dedicated tablets illustration and layout tuned so the PNG stays crisp at larger sizes, with a wider hero column and careful scaling so the art reads clearly on phones and desktops.

    • Scrolling Scripture ticker

      New

A KJV verse ribbon runs along the base of the first viewport with readable gradient highlights on Sabbath phrasing, gentle motion, and a deferred client load so the shell stays responsive.

    • Sabbath Blessings carousel

      Improved

The wall-testimonials band gained responsive carousel refinements, clearer headings, and accessibility improvements so social proof stays easy to scan above the fold.

    • The Friday Whisper

      New

We are growing a short weekly note—The Friday Whisper—to help you ease into Sabbath with a calm nudge before sundown. It pairs with the same ritual panel on the homepage: a small reflection, not noise. If you want it in your inbox, add your email below; you can also open the newsletter hub for past issues and context.

  • Features

Communities groundwork, richer sharing, and a sweep of polish

Early community-oriented flows are landing alongside stronger gathering visuals and invite tooling, address suggestions for hosts, refreshed imagery fallbacks, and updates across Community Blessings, legal routes, and the signed-in shell. We're documenting what's stable enough to celebrate—more related work is still actively shipping.

    • Community foundations

Creation and management paths for communities are taking shape, with RSVP-oriented flows so gatherings connected to a community context are easier to host and follow.

    • Gathering editing and host workflows

      Event pagesImproved

Editing gatherings—and keeping series, visibility, and community-related details aligned—got smoother so hosts hit fewer rough edges while updating plans.

    • Gathering invites

      Event pagesImproved

Invite flows received attention end to end so in-app notifications and email stay in step when someone invites a guest to a gathering.

    • Location suggestions when you host

      MapImproved

Setting a gathering location now uses address autocomplete and server-backed suggestions so pins stay accurate without extra typing.

    • Imagery, colors, and fallbacks

      Event pagesImproved

Curated imagery was refreshed, deterministic fallbacks stay consistent wherever a gathering appears, and host-facing color choices align better with what guests see.

    • Richer previews when you share

      WebsiteImproved

Links to Sabbath Wall entries and gatherings can show stronger preview imagery when shared, so public surfaces feel closer to the in-product experience.

    • Community Blessings

      Improved

The signed-in dashboard blessings carousel gained responsive refinements, clearer headings, and accessibility improvements.

    • Terms of Service routing and footers

      WebsiteImproved

Terms of Service now resolve through a stable changelog URL with redirects from older paths, and public footers consistently point to the legal pages you expect.

    • Sabbath Mode, profile alerts, and navigation

      Improved

Sabbath Mode on the dashboard deepened, profiles surface recent alerts more helpfully, and mobile navigation picked up small consistency fixes.

    More on the way

Several threads of this effort are still in motion behind the scenes. We'll keep adding changelog notes as pieces mature—thank you for sticking with us while we ship carefully.

  • Features

Sabbath Map: smarter markers, plus homepage and navigation polish

Maps that show many gatherings now group nearby markers, spread overlapping pins when you need to pick one, and use clearer popups. The public site has a new FAQ with structured data for search, the marketing header and homepage layout are tighter, and in-app navigation got small consistency and accessibility improvements.

    • Clustering and overlapping markers

      Map

Gatherings at the same or nearby locations are grouped into clusters you can zoom into, and colocated markers can spread out in a fan so you can open the right gathering. Label and tooltip positioning use smarter nudging so names stay readable as you move the map.

    • Map popups and marker clarity

      MapImproved

Marker popups behave more like full-screen sheets where it helps, with explicit back and close actions. Celestial map styling and category cues were refined, and internal naming around markers was cleaned up for consistency.

    • Homepage FAQ

      Website

The homepage now answers common questions in a dedicated FAQ section, with structured data so search engines can surface those answers more reliably.

    • Marketing header and homepage layout

      WebsiteImproved

The public site header and homepage were adjusted for clearer layout and balance on different screen sizes, building on the recent host and audience paths work.

    • App navigation and page spacing

      Improved

Primary navigation, dividers, and top-level padding were nudged for a more consistent shell between desktop and mobile, with small accessibility improvements on nav interactions.

  • Features

Hosting, channels, messages, and the homepage all got a major refresh

This was a wide release: host access is easier to request, messages and notifications stay in sync in real time, gathering channels have clearer lifecycle controls, gathering visibility is more carefully enforced, and the public website does a better job helping new people understand where they fit.

    • Good-faith host applications

People who are ready to host can apply through a clearer good-faith flow. Approved hosts can get started with initial credits right away, while stewards see cleaner host request language and better context for recent approvals.

    • Real-time messages and notifications

Messages and notifications now work together more naturally. New channel messages can create notifications, unread state updates faster, and the notifications list listens for changes so important activity does not feel stale.

    • Invite visibility for hosts and staff

      Event pagesImproved

Hosts and authorized staff can see pending invitees in the Going area on gathering pages, making it easier to understand who has been invited even before they respond.

    • Gathering privacy and discovery tightened

      MapFixed

Discover now sends only public gatherings, and database policies were restored so public, community-only, and invite-only gatherings follow the right access rules at the database layer too.

    • Channel deletion permissions

      Event pagesImproved

Channel cleanup now respects the real ownership path: channel owners, gathering hosts, series hosts, and admins can delete the channels they are responsible for, with clearer errors when someone is not allowed.

    • Inactive gathering channel cleanup

      Event pagesImproved

Gathering channels are now optional at creation, and inactive channels get a host warning after 27 days before being cleaned up after 30 days if nobody posts. This keeps quiet channels from piling up while still giving hosts time to keep important conversations alive.

    • Homepage paths for hosts, guests, and communities

      WebsiteImproved

The homepage feature showcase was rebuilt around the main audience paths - hosts, guests, and communities - with clearer screenshots, labels, and copy for Sabbath Planner, Sabbath Tracker, gathering pages, and messaging.

    • Host invitation on marketing pages

      Website

Guests browsing public pages can now see a host invitation banner and a timed prompt that explains how hosting helps people connect around real Sabbath gatherings.

    • Beta banner on the homepage

      Website

The homepage now clearly marks Sabbath Together as beta so new visitors understand the product is still improving while the community grows.

    • Steward navigation and time badge polish

      Improved

Admin access is easier to find for people who have it, dashboard navigation is cleaner, and the current-time badge now has a simpler variant for places where a lighter touch fits better.

    • Changelog and social sharing polish

      ChangelogImproved

The changelog now highlights only the newest entry as new, supports cleaner linked titles, shows richer images where helpful, and Sabbath Wall shares have a stronger social preview image.

  • FeaturesEvent pagesFixed

Gathering invites: notifications and email now reliable

The first release of friend invites didn’t always deliver: some people never saw an in-app notification or invite email—especially on repeat sends while an invite was still pending, or when the server couldn’t use a privileged database key. We shipped fixes so each send can notify as expected, invite emails are awaited through delivery, and the database can record notifications using the host’s normal session.

  • FeaturesEvent pagesImproved

Host flow: smarter time zone when you create a gathering

The time zone field now starts with your device clock (aligned with the header), fixes a display bug when the selected zone didn’t match the control, and uses search so you can still pick any region when you need to.

  • Features

Gathering invites and smarter data loading

Invite friends to gatherings from the app, get notified when something needs your attention, and let stewards see invite activity in the dashboard—while large reads are batched so the app stays quick when many IDs are in play.

    • Invite friends to gatherings

      Event pages

From a gathering you can open an invite sheet, pick friends, and send notifications. Invite-related email respects your profile preferences, and the notifications list keeps you in the loop on pending invites.

    • Admin metrics for gathering invites

      Improved

Stewards and moderators can see invite-related activity alongside other dashboard signals so community health is easier to track.

    • Batched data loading

      Improved

Supabase reads that used to send very large filters are batched so requests stay within sensible limits and pages that load many gatherings or profiles stay fast.

  • Website

Website: Sabbath Map page, hero refresh, and shared header

The public website has a dedicated Sabbath Map experience, a refreshed homepage hero with clearer host messaging, and one consistent header across Home, Map, Wall, Changelog, and sign-in.

    • Explore global gatherings on a dedicated page with live data from the app, instead of folding the full experience into the homepage alone. The sitemap includes the route for discovery.

    • Homepage hero and layout

      Improved

The hero section, imagery, and host call-to-action were refined for clarity; scroll affordances and button labeling match the rest of the product.

    • Changelog and navigation

      Improved

The changelog uses the same site header as other public pages for a consistent shell, with compact navigation on small screens and clearer links to Sabbath Map and Sabbath Wall.

  • Features

    Premium mobile polish

Key flows feel more native on phones: bottom sheets for important dialogs, clearer motion on the tab bar, light haptic feedback where it helps, and safer layout around notches and home indicators.

    • Responsive dialogs and drawers

Modals adapt to the screen: bottom sheets on small viewports and centered dialogs on larger ones. Flows like credit purchase and Sabbath Wall reporting use this pattern so actions sit in easy thumb reach.

    • Mobile navigation and motion

      Improved

The bottom tab bar uses a shared layout animation for the active item and short vibration feedback when you switch sections, so primary navigation feels clearer.

    • Buttons, safe areas, and touch

      Improved

Buttons can use light haptic feedback on tap where it makes sense. Styles respect safe-area insets and refined blur so overlays and the nav read clearly above device edges.

  • Features

Messages, steadier maps, and profile polish

Direct messages are easier to notice and respect when you are already in the app. Gathering countdowns and maps behave more predictably, profile updates feel smoother, and stewards get clearer traffic signals in the admin dashboard.

    • Direct messages you can trust

Unread DM counts show in the navigation so new conversations stand out. Email nudges for messages take recent app activity into account, so you get fewer redundant emails while you are already engaged. After sign-in you can return to the page you were trying to open.

    • Event countdown reliability

      Event pagesFixed

The live countdown on gathering pages waits until the interface has finished hydrating on your device, so the timer no longer flashes or shows a confusing value on first load.

    • Profile photos and edits

      Improved

Profile updates are smoother: clearer labeling and feedback when you change your photo, more reliable compression and preview handling, and database policies so you can update your own profile safely.

    • Map plotting and layout

      MapImproved

Gatherings are only plotted when latitude and longitude are valid, keeping discovery and fullscreen maps stable. Map panels that should fill a card or section resize more predictably on the homepage, browse flows, and regional views.

    • Admin dashboard: changelog visits and day charts

      Improved

For stewards and moderators, metrics now include visits to the Changelog page alongside other activity, and daily charts use a consistent UTC day boundary so trends line up when you compare one day to the next.

  • Features

    Map-aware event visuals and tidy-ups

Gatherings without a flyer now show a static map when we have coordinates, and a single consistent fallback image everywhere else. We added Tennessee artwork, clearer behavior when the browser blocks location, and a few reliability fixes for hosts and stewards.

    • Static maps and shared fallbacks

      Event pagesImproved

Listings, the host dashboard, category pages, and profiles use the same rules: when latitude and longitude are available you get a Mapbox static map for context; when there's no uploaded photo you see a predictable fallback image instead of an empty slot. Alt text carries more event detail for screen readers and search.

    • Tennessee gatherings

      MapImproved

Sabbath gatherings in Tennessee now use a dedicated state image so the map and discovery experience match other regions.

    • Map location access

      MapImproved

If the browser denies geolocation, you'll get a clear heads-up so it's obvious why the map might not center as expected.

    • Event dates when creating or editing

      Event pagesFixed

Date normalization in the create flow now calls the UTC conversion helpers correctly so start and end times stay accurate across timezones.

    • Sabbath Wall moderation timestamps

      Fixed

Dates in the moderation view use consistent UTC-based formatting so what you see no longer flickers or mismatches after load—a small but annoying class of display bugs stamped out for stewards.

  • Features

    March polish and new possibilities

Event creation is clearer for everyone, gathering pages got new visual overlays and sharing, and we tightened up the experience on mobile and across the app.

    • Event creation UX improvements

      Event pagesImproved

Creating a gathering is now friendlier for hosts everywhere: timezone selection is clearer for global use, online events can emphasize city for discovery without requiring a full address, and photo sizing was improved so your gathering looks right.

    • New event overlays and sharing

      Event pages

Gathering pages can now use new overlay styles—Tethered Flow and Harmonic Bloom—plus ASCII-style background patterns for a technical-premium look. We also added sharing options so you can spread the word more easily.

    • Premium-style event background system

      Event pagesImproved

The event background system was overhauled for a more polished, premium aesthetic so your gathering page can stand out.

    • Messages page upgrades

      Improved

The messages page now shows event titles for clearer context, and unfriend logic was improved for a smoother experience.

    • Mobile UI/UX overhaul

      Improved

We improved the UI and UX with a focus on mobile ergonomics—better layout, tapping, and overall feel on smaller screens.

    • Homepage refinements

      WebsiteImproved

The homepage gained an animated scroll-down indicator, layout and structure were refined for better responsiveness, and we optimized imports and performance so the page loads and scrolls more smoothly.

    • Event listing and video fixes

      Event pagesFixed

Event listing pages were stabilized after branch merges, and the event detail video container now has a proper minimum height so video displays consistently.

    • US regional coverage

      MapImproved

Event queries were updated to handle US regional variations correctly, and we added a Rhode Island state image so gatherings there display with the right imagery.

    • Admin dashboard: built for stewards and moderators

      Improved

For everyone who helps run the community—stewards and moderators—the admin dashboard is now a clearer home base: see pending host applications, reports, Sabbath Wall messages, and bug reports at a glance, jump between sections with the sidebar or command palette, and get to the work that matters without the clutter. We built it so your time goes to the community, not to hunting for the right screen.

  • Features

Sabbath Together just got a lot bigger. Gatherings can now be created and discovered from anywhere in the world—and the homepage now shows you exactly where people are celebrating Sabbath.

    • Global Sabbath Map on the Homepage

      MapWebsite

A stunning 3D interactive globe now greets visitors on the homepage, showing every public gathering ever hosted on Sabbath Together. Spin it, explore it, and feel the scope of what this community is becoming. A live activity list sits alongside it so you can see what's happening right now.

    • Worldwide Location Support

      Map

Gatherings and profiles are no longer limited to the United States. You can now create or join gatherings anywhere in the world. Non-US hosts get a City/Region text field instead of a state picker, and the map uses a globe projection so every location renders beautifully.

    • Customizable Reminder Emails

      Event pages

Dynamic tokens like {{event_title}} automatically fill in the right details. You can even fire off a test email to yourself before it goes out.

    • Built for Community on the Homepage

The homepage now features a new 'Built for Community' section showcasing everything Sabbath Together has to offer: the Planner, Tracker, Journal, custom gathering pages, messaging, and reminders—all laid out in one clear, welcoming section for first-time visitors.

    • Sabbath Wall Moderation Polish

      Improved

The Sabbath Wall moderation interface got a visual refresh—cleaner layout, sharper typography, clearer action labels, and more prominent feedback messages to make managing the Wall smoother.

    • Spectacular Animated Backgrounds

      Event pagesImproved

    • Expanded Color Palette & Picker

      Event pagesImproved

The color selection UI in gathering customization got a major upgrade—more colors to choose from and a much smoother picking experience. Your gathering, your vibe.
